Kaysville Concerts - Austin Packer

Come enjoy FREE small concerts each month! Live performances are approximatly half-hour long and a great opportunity for all ages. Children welcome! We feature local musicians with a variety of instruments and styles. Held monthly on the Fourth Friday at 4:00 pm in the Kaysville Branch Library. Award-winning cellist Austin Packer began studying the cello at the age of 9. From there he excelled quickly and has been the winner of several local, statewide, and national regional competitions. Some of these competitions include First Place winner of the MTNA Young Artist Competition Utah Division and Second Place winner of the MTNA Young Artist Competition Southwest United States Division in Santa Barbara, CA. He was also named First Place Winner of the UMTA Concerto Competition, and was a two-time winner of the Weber State University (WSU) Concerto Night Competition. He received a BM in Cello Performance from WSU and is currently pursuing an MM in Cello Performance at the University of Utah. Austin is known not only for his majestic sound and beauty in playing but also for his passion and ability in teaching his private students. He currently runs a private studio out of his home and also teaches several undergraduate students at the University of Utah. For more information visit: austinpacker.com
