Plan a romantic ice skating date

Reserve an alcove at The Book Garden in Bountiful

The Book Garden, located on Bountiful Main Street, is doing something super fun for book lovers on Valentine’s Day! You can reserve an alcove on the holiday for a romantic, intimate, book date. It’s unique and romantic and would thrill the book lover in your life! Visit their website to reserve your spot for just $25 and choose some add-ons to level up your date as well.

Do this date at home: Set up a cozy reading nook in your home. Somewhere with good light, fluffy pillows, and warm blankets. Bring your favorite snacks and drinks. Invite your date to bring their favorite book and join you for some cuddles and reading.

Ballroom dancing

You don’t have to be professional dancers to enjoy this date because everyone is there to learn! Valentine’s Day night is one of six nights that the Ballroom Dancing class series is taking place at Woods Cross High School. Click here to learn more and add it to your plans.

Do this date at home: Take time to research and find a free or within your budget dance class/tutorial online. For your date, dress up a bit and make space for dancing. Spend your time laughing, dancing and having fun learning together. Then turn on your favorite songs and dance together for the rest of the night.

Set up a romantic picnic with Sego Lily Picnic

The day before fall ended, we set a picnic up in our backyard using a setup from Sego Lily Picnic. Their picnic setups are great and allow you to take your picnic anywhere! Create an intimate dinner date, away from the busy crowds, in one of your favorite places. You’ll love this date! Visit @seglilypicnic on Instagram to see their Valentine’s picnic package.

Do this date at home: The Sego Lily Picnic sets can be taken anywhere! Reserve yours and set up a romanticly lit picnic date somewhere in your home. Turn on a romantic playlist (link to one later in this post) and enjoy being together with no one else around.

See ‘She Loves Me’ at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre

CenterPoint has a fun musical playing on their main stage through Valentine’s Day that would be perfect for a fun date night! ‘She Loves Me’ is a musical from the 1960s that was the inspiration for the popular chick flick, ‘You’ve Got Mail’. Click here for more details and to grab tickets.

Grab breakfast

Instead of joining the rest of the world for Valentine’s evening, go out to eat in the morning and head in to work a little late. Davis County has some great places to grab breakfast. Click here for a list and pick somewhere new, or a classic favorite, to visit. A few of the locations only serve brunch/breakfast on the weekends, so you might plan your date for the weekend before or after the holiday. But you can find a lot of great places to eat on a weekday morning so you can celebrate on Valentine’s Day itself.

Do this date at home: Wake up early and make your love’s favorite breakfast. Set the table with your fancy dishes and some candles. Invite your partner to join you for a sit-down meal before you both head off to your activities for the day.

Meet for a lunch date

I will pump up lunch dates until the end of time, especially on a holiday! Meet for an hour, connect and enjoy each other’s company. Then you’re free to celebrate in the evening with the whole family, or keep it low-key and relax at home. Click here for some of our favorite places to meet for lunch.

Go for happy hour

Happy hour is less expensive and less busy than any other time of the day when it comes to restaurants. You might also find a babysitter easier to get after school hours. Pick somewhere that serves your favorite drinks and appetizers and go for a quiet afternoon date. Click here for some great places to visit in Davis County.

Line dancing

There’s a series of classes happening at Layton High School and one of them falls on Valentine’s Day night. Sign the two of you up for this series as a gift and include it in your plans for the holiday of love! Click here for more details.

Swing dancing

Swing dancing is fun and could add some adventure to your relationship. Attend one of the six series of classes on the holiday for some fun and movement for your date. Visit this page to find all of the details.
