Movies in the park are one of my favorite things about summer. I love bringing treats and settling down on blankets in the park to enjoy a movie with all of my friends and family. I used to go to movies in the park every week before we got married. It got harder to do when we had kids, and even harder to justify paying a babysitter to stay with them while they were sleeping at home and we were out on a free date. Our kids are finally old enough and at a point where keeping them up late every so often is fun and doesn’t have lasting consequences. I'm hoping we can catch one or two of the free movies in the park happening in Davis County this summer!

Bountiful Movies in the Park
The South Davis Recreation Center hosts outdoor summer movies at Bountiful Town Square (75 E 200 S, Bountiful) one time per month through the summer. Movies will start at dusk.

Centerville City Movies in the Park
I have a particular fondness for Centerville's movies in the park because those are the ones that I enjoyed so much the summers before I met my husband. These events will occur at Smith Park (300 N 100 E, Centerville) and start at dusk, around 9:00-9:30 PM. Each week has a theme and a fun activity associated with it, starting at 7:30 PM.

Kaysville City Movies in the Park
These movies in the park accompany a fun city-planned event. June includes a Children’s Entrepreneur Market. July’s movie will take place alongside Kaysville 4th of July celebrations. Make a full date of it by attending the entire event, ending with the movie in the park! Each movie starts at dusk, after the event before it completes at 8:30 pm

Free Friday Family Film Series from the Davis Arts Council
This popular series is held at the Kenley Centennial Amphitheater and is located in Layton City Park (403 N Wasatch Drive, Layton). Free Friday movies are from 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm. This year’s lineup is the best one yet, in my personal opinion!
