Davis County Holiday Activities Perfect for Date Night
Davis County Christmas and Holiday Activities
Pick Out a Christmas Tree Together
Kick off the season with one of the most nostalgic date nights—choosing and cutting down your Christmas tree together. Bundle up, grab a warm drink, and wander through a local tree farm until you find the perfect one.
Green Ridge Christmas Trees (1370 N US 89, Kaysville) is a longtime favorite in the area, offering beautiful, fresh-cut trees and an inviting holiday atmosphere. This year they are offering the Davis County Dates community a 10% discount when you show them you are following both them and us on Instagram and use code DCDATES10. Other local tree farms include Robinson Tree Farms (2301 S Main St. Bountiful) and Dibble Farms (2463 W Gentile St, Layton).
Once you’re home, turn decorating into part of the date: play Christmas music, sip your favorite holiday drink, and snack on a seasonal treat while you wrap the lights, hang ornaments, and make your home feel festive.
Attend a Holiday Concert or Show
Davis County has no shortage of festive performances this time of year. Concerts and seasonal productions make for a magical night out any time of year. Here’s everything happening nearby for you to enjoy! Visit our Upcoming Events page for more details and where to grab tickets for each event.

If you want to add dinner or a treat before or after the show, check out the Dine in Davis section of our website to find great local spots just minutes from each venue.
Tackle Christmas Shopping Together
Tackle your holiday shopping as a team with an evening out at one of Davis County’s malls or shopping districts. Wander the stores, grab a warm drink, and pick out meaningful gifts for the people you love. When you’re finished, bring your favorite takeout home and turn the rest of the night into a cozy wrapping session. Put on Christmas music, wrap your presents together, and tuck them under the tree before the night ends.
If you want to make your holiday shopping feel more meaningful this year, add a stop at one of Davis County’s seasonal art and maker markets. The BDAC Winter Art Market in Bountiful (Nov 21–Dec 19) (90 N Main St., Bountiful), the Wild Sage Holiday Art Gallery Pop-Up on December 5th (1480 Orchard Dr., Suite 113, Bountiful), and The Juniper Market at Station Park (open daily through Dec 24th) all spotlight local artists and small businesses and will have unique, handmade gifts you won’t find anywhere else. It’s a festive, feel-good way to shop small and turn your holiday errands into a memorable date night.

Decorate Gingerbread Houses
Pick up a couple of gingerbread house kits (or gather all the ingredients to build your own from scratch) and see who can create the most creative or structurally sound masterpiece. Make it playful by turning it into a competition, or invite friends for a group date and decorate as couples.
Want some inspiration? Stop by the Annual Gingerbread Festival at the Bountiful Davis Arts Center (90 N Main St, Bountiful) on December 6th from 10 AM–2 PM.
Buy Some Mistletoe
Pick up a fresh sprig of mistletoe or choose a decorative one you can reuse year after year. Hang it in the perfect spot at home—somewhere you’ll both walk past often—and take a few minutes to “test it out.” A simple, sweet way to add a little romance to the season. I highly recommend hanging a spring somewhere over your bed!
Paint Ornaments for Your Tree
Add a personal touch to your holiday décor with an ornament-painting date at Salty Clay Art & Pottery Studio (1050 Shepherd Lane, Suite 11, Farmington). Choose from their ceramic ornament kits, settle into the studio, and spend the evening painting together. Leave your creations to be fired, then pick them up later to hang on your tree at home.
After your painting session, warm up with a cup of hot cocoa from Witches Brew Coffee, located just east of the studio. It’s the perfect cozy ending to a creative holiday date night!
Holiday Movie Watch Party
Kick off the season with a holiday movie night right on Kaysville’s Main Street. Start by picking up treats from Sugar Moose Candy (85 Main St, Kaysville) and Lisa’s Popcorn (37 N Main St, Kaysville), then head to Kaysville Theatre (21 N Main St) to enjoy one of the classic holiday films they’re showing each week in December.
Prefer a cozy night in? Grab those same Main Street treats and settle in at home for a holiday movie marathon. I’ve put together a list of the best holiday movies to stream this year! Click here to find the perfect pick for your date night.
Decorate Christmas Cookies
Start your cookie date by visiting a local bakery to pick up ready-to-decorate sugar cookies. You can grab a box from Parson’s Bakery (535 W 2600 S, Bountiful), Old Grist Mill (334 Main St, Kaysville), Dick’s Market (2280 Orchard Dr, Bountiful // 84 W Parrish Ln, Centerville), or Bowman’s Market (326 Main St, Kaysville). Some shops offer frosting, or you can grab a can of white frosting and tint it to match your holiday design plans. Enjoy your finished cookies by the fire while sharing favorite holiday memories, or package them up and deliver them to neighbors who could use a little extra cheer this year.
If you’re in the mood for a cozy, hands-on date night at home, bake your own Christmas sugar cookies while listening to holiday music. Once they’re cool and frosted, deliver them together (bonus points if you add a little caroling at the door!). I’ve included our tried-and-true sugar cookie and frosting recipes that are easy to make, freezer-friendly, and a hit every single year. Click here to try them for your date.
Slow Down with a Holiday Spa Night
Looking for a cozy date that helps you unwind from the busyness of the season? Beyond Spa in Layton (2261 N Hill Field Rd) is offering a dreamy Silent Night couples package, complete with private time in the seasonal romantic “B” Lounge, a 50-minute hot cocoa aromatherapy stone body treatment, and a side-by-side cranberry soak with scrub and foot rub. It’s a peaceful, pampering way to reconnect and feel restored before the holidays get even busier.
Enjoy the Christmas Lights in Davis County
Holiday light viewing is one of the simplest (and most magical) December date nights, and Davis County has plenty of beautiful displays to enjoy.
Start with a stroll or slow drive through the Layton City Holiday Lights at Layton Commons Park (437 N Wasatch Drive, Layton). The display runs daily from dusk to 11 p.m., November 21–December 31. To make the night extra cozy, grab hot chocolate and a famous scone or sweet roll from Sill’s Cafe before you go. Free hayrides through the lights will take place on December 3rd from 6-8PM with hot cocoa available for purchase on site. If you want to add a little extra magic to your Layton lights date, come back for Active Pages, a storytelling stroll through the lights at Layton Commons Park happening December 9-11 from 6-8PM. This year’s story is The Nutcracker, and the event is free, but tickets are required and can be found on the Davis Art Council’s website.
Prefer a scenic drive? Pick up a warm drink from Maverik or Starbucks, then head into the Bountiful foothills for a beautiful neighborhood lights tour. Begin on 700 S and Bountiful Blvd, where the homes surrounding the Bountiful Temple feature spotlighted banners depicting the Christmas story. From there, drive south along the boulevard and wind through the neighborhoods east of Bountiful Blvd until you reach Eagle Ridge Drive.
