Fall is my very favorite season of them all! Every year I get so excited when summer hits and say that it’s my favorite season, and then when I get a glimpse of fall weather, rainstorms, leaves, etc. I remember just how much I love it! There are so many great things to do in the fall, it’s the start of new routines, it’s mine and my husband’s birthdays, and the weather is perfect! Every year I’m bummed out that the fall festivities don’t last clear through to the end of November, but I do everything I can to soak up all of the fall fun and date night opportunities for the month and a half that they’re available. See the fall leaves

It’s probably the most obvious fall date ideas, but one of my favorites! I love every opportunity we have to get up close and personal with the changing leaves. As they change in the mountains, we go for drives or hikes and as they change down in the valley, we walk on nature trails. This post from Discover Davis has some great suggestions for seeing the fall leaves in our area this year! I also loved our hike up the Wild Rose Trail and think that it will be an amazing place to see leaves every year!

Drink hot chocolate

I look forward to cooler weather and the opportunity to pull out my hot chocolate maker or order my favorite cup from the local chocolate shop. One of my favorite posts on the site is this fun idea for a hot chocolate tasting date! This year I’m planning to have our hot chocolate tasting last all season long, grabbing a cup from a new location each week as part of date night, to help us find our favorite!

Visit a fall festival

I LOVE fall festivals and wish we could visit them all each year! My favorites are the ones that are hosted at local farms, not only because of how fun they are but because they support local farmers and the local economy! Carve or decorate pumpkins

We aren’t big on carving pumpkins at our house because it’s goopy and messy, but we still love to get pumpkins and decorate them in our own way. Davis County has some great pumpkin patches perfect for picking out pumpkins for your carving date. Have a picnic

Before the weather gets too cold, eat outside a few more times! We love dining on the patio at some of our favorite restaurants or packing a picnic to enjoy in the mountains after a hike or a drive to see the fall leaves. Combine this date with some leaf peeping and take your picnic into the mountains at a picnic area near some changing leaves so you can enjoy fall to the fullest.

Visit a haunted attraction

Make caramel apples

Head to an apple orchard or farm stand in Davis County and pick our some freshly grown apples. Then go to the store and grab caramels to melt and your favorite candies to put on caramel apples. Decorate your apples and enjoy eating them while you watch scary movies or sit outside and enjoy a fall storm.

Go fishing

Sundance Lift Rides

A few years ago we crossed a date night activity off of my bucket list and went on a Full Moon Lift Ride up at Sundance resort! It didn’t disappoint and now I’m dreaming of an afternoon lift ride when the fall leaves are at the height of their color, followed by a short hike, dinner at the resort, and a Full Moon Lift Ride.
