My top love language is quality time, which means one of the best gifts I can give my husband is intentional time out together, just the two of us. Whether it’s his birthday or Father’s Day, planning a special date is my favorite way to celebrate him. It’s how I show love, and lucky for me, quality time is high on his list too.
Father’s Day is the perfect occasion to carve out some one-on-one time and thank your parenting partner for everything they bring to the family. If the dad you're celebrating loves the outdoors, let that guide the whole day! Davis county has no shortage of options. For something a little different, The Rush Funplex (1806 S 2000 W, Syracuse) has glow-in-the-dark mini golf as part of its massive indoor entertainment complex, making it a great option, rain or shine.
Play Arcade Games & Eat Pizza Together
If your guy loves a little friendly competition, an arcade and pizza date is a guaranteed good time! Our absolute favorite spot in Davis County is Louie’s Pizzeria and Main Street Arcade in Layton (1095 N Main Street)! The arcade has an amazing mix of classic games we all grew up loving alongside current favorites like Fruit Ninja, making it fun no matter what era of gamer you are. Father’s Day weekend comes with a built-in date or family outing each year with the Bountiful Rotary Club’s Coats for Kids Car Show. It’s a great excuse to get out and enjoy some classic cars, good food, and fun local atmosphere together. Friday evening’s activities kick off on Bountiful Main Street with a food truck court, car parade, car show display, and tire burnout. Saturday’s activities take place at the Bountiful City Park (400 N 200 W, Bountiful) and include more of the car show and food court, as well as a patriotic ceremony and awards presentation. Research suggests that couples who laugh together have a happier, more successful relationship. Some of our most memorable dates have been the ones where we can’t stop laughing, whether it was at a live comedy show, a funny movie, or just swapping stories over dinner. For a local favorite, we love The Improvables, a local improv troupe that has been bringing comedy to the community for years now. Keep an eye on their social media page for their schedule and check them out when they’re performing for a fun and easy date night close to home.
If you’re up for a little drive, Wiseguys Comedy is worth the trip, and they often offer deals online, making it a great value date! You can catch a show at their location in The Gateway in Downtown Salt Lake City, or head north to their spot on Historic 25th Street in Ogden for a fun evening in a great setting.
Enjoy Breakfast or Brunch Together
There’s something relaxed and enjoyable about lingering over a good meal together without the pressure of a busy dinner rush. Whether your man is a steak-and-eggs loyalist, a breakfast burrito devotee, an omelette purist, or someone who goes straight for the pancakes and French toast every single time, Davis County has a spot he’ll love!
