International Sushi Day is Thursday, June 18th this year, and I wanted to give you enough notice that you could celebrate with a date night if you want. Like most random holidays, there is a real purpose behind. The purpose of this holiday is to raise awareness about the truths and fiction surrounding sushi.

Confession: I've never been a huge sushi fan, but the truth is, I've only tasted it once, and it was years ago. I made it a goal to try it again last year, but I couldn't. So if you have suggestions for what type of sushi we should try first, please send them my way! In the meantime, I asked all of my sushi-loving friends for their recommendations in the area, and the best of the best are listed below! Because I know that when you love sushi, you LOVE sushi, and it makes a really great date night (or lunch) meal!
Where to Find the Best Sushi in Davis County
Fat Fish
Bountiful (595 W 2600 S)
Fat Fish is located on the northwest corner of the Square on 2600 (formerly Colonial Square). You can dine in, pick up your meal, or order delivery. Fat Fish offers innovative sushi with a Vietnamese twist. They have Nigiri, Sashimi, Vietnamese Pho, and Bento Boxes. They often post delicious-looking desserts on their social media channels as well!
Fuji Sushi
Centerville (330 N, Marketplace Dr.)
Fuji Sushi is located near IHOP, Hug-Hes, and America First, in the shopping area north of Target. They offer sushi on the menu for every part of your meal, from appetizers to entrees to dessert! They even have a section featuring gluten-free sushi rolls, which is a win in our book. And their menu features some rolls named after nearby cities!
Sushi Monster
Farmington (935 W 100 N)
Sushi Monster is located on the west side of the fountains at Station Park, just a few doors down from Cinemark. I hear great things about this spot, but the menu is a tricky one to find. I was able to locate it on utmenu.com and see that they have a wide variety of rolls, including an entire page of Vegetarian Sushi Rolls. A meal here, followed by people watching around the fountains at Station Park would make a great International Sushi Day date!
Nikko Sushi and Ramen
Kaysville (242 N 300 W)
Nikko Sushi and Ramen is located on the North side of 200 N in Kaysville, just across the side street from McDonald’s. It’s across the parking lot from the shopping strip that is next to the road, so you might have to look a little bit, but it’s well worth the stop. If I were celebrating International Sushi Day with someone, this is probably where I’d recommend we go, because in addition to a selection of beautiful sushi, they have a decent menu of Ramen and other Japanese dishes for those who may not like fish.
Tony's Grill and Sushi Bar
Layton (22 N Main Street)
Tony’s Grill and Sushi Bar is located on Layton Main Street, just a few blocks north of Layton Parkway. If I had to say which sushi restaurant in Davis County is recommended the most (on social media posts and when I ask my sushi-loving friends), it would be this one! Their menu features endless lunch or endless dinner, special rolls, small plates, grilled options, and sushi platters (for big parties or just sushi-enthusiastic couples). This is a sushi spot you definitely need to check out!
Osaka Sushi
Layton (918 Heritage Park Blvd)
You’ll find Osaka Sushi tucked in the Layton Hills Mall area, east of Golden Corral and The Fort Cuisine of India. Enjoy lunch specials on weekdays, dinner any day of the week, and Happy Hour on M/W/Th from 5-6:30 PM. Their beverage menu features wine and beer, if that’s something you’re looking to add to your sushi date.
Golden Ginger Bistro
Clearfield (1020 W 300)
Golden Ginger is located in a renovated gas station building, and one of the most unsuspecting spots on this list. I’ve eaten lunch here and really enjoyed their side salad (the dressing was amazing), spring roll, and Orange Chicken. I was impressed by the fresh ingredients and would imagine that their sushi is delicious as well. Stop in for their Lunch Sushi or a great dinner!
Tataki Sushi Bar
Clinton (1917 W 1800 N)
Tataki is located near Pizza Pie Cafe and Hibachi House in Clinton, in the Walmart shopping center. I found this one recommended a lot recently, so I added it to the list! The Cali Crunch, Double Crunch, and Sunset rolls are mentioned a lot in social media group threads. The menu is extensive and includes fried rice and lo mein. It’s worth checking out if you’re on the north end of Davis County.
