A while back on A Prioritized Marriage, I shared why we love day time dates and some of our favorite activities for when we go on those dates. You can click here if you want to read that full post. Today I thought I'd follow that up with a post here sharing our favorite local day date activities.
Day Dates in Davis County
CenterPoint Matinee
Each show that Centerpoint puts on has one or two matinee showings and we always try to catch the show then. The show starts at 2:30, which is the perfect time to grab lunch before or dinner afterward.
Matinee Movie
This is my husbands favorite date activity, hands down. He loves catching one of the first showings of the day, then going out for lunch afterward.
Lunch
We’re even happy with a simple lunch date, and love to stop somewhere with a lunch menu that includes reduced prices for a few hours each day. I love meeting up with my husband for lunch with the kids, or on days when the kids are with my mom while I get work stuff done.
Happy Hour
A few restaurants in the area have happy hour each day featuring discounted drinks and appetizers. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy some of your favorite food, during a slower time and at a lower price.
Station Park
It’s one of our favorite places to go for date night and there are so many options for eating and activities. In the plaza around the fountains, you’ll find casual dining like Waffled, Fiiz and Barbacoa and upscale dining like P.F. Chang’s and Twigs Bistro. If you’re on a budget, you can bring a picnic of your own and sit around the fountains. The atmosphere is perfect for a date!
Rush Funplex
There are a lot of fun indoor amusement park type venues in the area, but the thing that I love about The Rush is the variety of activities available and the fact that they have a great deal available on Tuesday afternoons that you could take advantage of for a date. When you go before 5pm, you can get a three hour pass for just $12. They open at 10am, making it a great date idea for while the kids are at school.
Top Golf
A couple of summers ago, we went down to Top Golf for a weekday afternoon date. Bay prices per hour are lowest in the morning and increase throughout the day so day time is a really great time to go.

The classic date night often includes a meal and an activity. Something like dinner and a movie or lunch and bowling. You might not always have the time needed to enjoy those specific activities on your date nights, and you don’t need to. Going out for dessert or a quick snack can be just as fun, and can fill any amount of time you have to spend together.
I love a good date night out for lunch or dinner or even dessert. But nothing makes my heart happier than a good brunch date! There are so many great places in Davis County to grab a good breakfast or brunch date. Make brunch dates a regular occurrence in your routine! Going out earlier in the day means fewer people, you can enjoy the sunny weather, and you’ll have more energy to have fun together and talk earlier in the day.

When the kids head back to school, lunch dates became a regular part of our relationship.
